Meet Yvette Tetteh: The Ghanaian-British Entrepreneur Swimming for Change and Transforming Agribusiness

Yvette Yaa Konadu Tetteh is a Ghanaian-British entrepreneur, activist, and athlete known for her environmental advocacy and innovative agribusiness work. She is the co-founder and CEO of Pure and Just Company (Yvaya Farm), which produces natural dried tropical fruits in Ghana to create sustainable jobs, increase farmer incomes, and reduce food waste.

Born to Ghanaian parents, she attended Wycombe Abbey School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and French from Stanford University. Her international upbringing shaped her holistic, sustainability-focused worldview. She began her career in research and media production, working at the World Society Foundation, producing documentaries, and contributing as a Research Assistant at LSE on global governance and gender projects. She also interned as Operations Manager at Awethu Project.

Lioness Weekender learned more about Yvette Tetteh’s ambitions to build an impact driven agribusiness in Ghana that creates new local production jobs and stimulates revenue for up to 100 regional farmers.

In 2015, she moved to Ghana and co-founded Pure and Just Co. Ltd. in 2018 with Emmanuel Ampadu. The company has grown to employ 18 local staff, focusing on empowering women and youth in agribusiness.

In March 2023, she became the first person to swim the entire 450km length of Ghana’s Volta River over 40 days. This was part of the Agbetsi Living Water Expedition with The Or Foundation, raising awareness about textile microfibre pollution from second-hand clothing imports and advocating for global Extended Producer Responsibility policies.
